Position Overview
ChristianaCare is seeking a fellowship-trained Addiction Medicine physician and a Board-Certified Addiction Psychiatrist to join our expanding Addiction Medicine program. These full-time opportunities offer the flexibility to practice across inpatient consultation services, outpatient treatment programs, or a combination of both, depending on clinical interest and experience.
You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based, person-centered care for individuals with substance use disorders across Wilmington and Newark campuses.
Clinical Opportunities Include:
Inpatient Addiction Medicine Consult Physician – Newark, DE
Provide Addiction Medicine consultations for hospitalized patients
Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care
Collaborate closely with hospitalists, psychiatry, nursing, social work, and care coordination teams
Educate patients, families, residents, and medical learners
Hybrid care model (in-person and virtual consults)
Shared weekend call rotation with the Addiction Medicine consult team
Outpatient Addiction Medicine Psychiatrist (Project Recovery Program) – Wilmington, DE
Outpatient Addiction Medicine Psychiatrist (Project Recovery Program) – Wilmington, DE
Provide outpatient psychiatric and Addiction Medicine care within a multidisciplinary team
Deliver services including individual, group, and family therapy, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)
Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for all substance use disorders
Crisis intervention, care coordination, and resource navigation
Consultative support for primary care providers engaged in MAT

Qualifications
Addiction Medicine fellowship training required
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Addiction Psychiatry, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine
Eligible for Delaware medical license and DEA
