Kingsboro Psychiatric Center (KPC), a Joint Commission accredited Office of Mental Health (OMH) facility is recruiting Board-Certified Psychiatrists to serve as the Clinical Lead when providing mental health services to the people KPC serves. These positions are available in both inpatient and outpatient locations and is based in Brooklyn, NY.
Duties
As the Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive, and recovery oriented psychiatric treatment services built on principles of effective, measurable, and accountable care. As medical doctors, psychiatrists are responsible for ensuring that all services are integrated to promote mental and physical health and recovery.
Additionally, since psychopharmacology has become an integral component of modern mental health treatment, psychiatrists serve as primary prescribers. direct care services provided to individuals with mental illness in inpatient, outpatient, residential and community setting including:
- Setting a vision for psychiatric care delivery and professional practice models that aligns with KPC and OMH mission
- Overseeing the integration of mental health, primary care, and substance abuse treatment to support individualized treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery
- Addressing critical change management factors essential to support a culture of excellence in patient care
- Meeting with clients daily and participating in morning meeting.
- Conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments
- Creating treatment plans including medication management
- Independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide psychiatric care and treatment services to assigned individuals.
- Provide clinical supervision and guidance to lower-level psychiatrists, physicians, and/or other medical providers; and may manage care and treatment services for an assigned facility, unit, or program.
About KPC
KPC, located in Brooklyn, New York, is a community-based mental health facility providing inpatient and outpatient services to adults in Kings County and the Greater NYC region. KPC delivers comprehensive, integrated services to hospitalized patients and operates three Transitional Living Residences; an 80-bed Family Care Program with certified homes in the community; a satellite clinic on campus; and two community-based outpatient clinics located in the Canarsie and Williamsburg neighborhoods. The clinics provide assessment and treatment planning; health screening and referrals; discharge planning; verbal therapies; medication therapy; medication education; symptoms management; psychiatric rehabilitation readiness determination; case management; crisis management; clinical support; mobile outreach; and family support services.

Salary: From $270356 to $283577 Annually
Minimum Qualifications
Psychiatrist 1: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and completion of a training program in psychiatry approved by the ABPN
Psychiatrist 2: License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State, and certification in psychiatry approved by the ABPN.

1. Background check is required. Candidates may be required to pay the associated fees. Employment is contingent upon complying with and satisfactorily meeting the background check requirements.

3. If appointed and you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position.

If appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists, you may be terminated from your employment.
5. If appointed, you may be required to become an enrolled Medicare provider; obtain and provide to your employer a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number issued by the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES); and otherwise actively participate to the degree necessary to allow for your services to be billed through Medicare and Medicaid. If you are
appointed and you lose the ability to bill through Medicare and Medicaid, you may be terminated from your employment.
6.
