We are a State of Nevada agency located in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. Our mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life by providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for the Southern Nevada Community. Our entire team is committed to developing innovative programs and service delivery systems to a diverse patient population. Some of the services we provide include: Inpatient Services, Forensic Services, Mobile Crisis, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through our state-of-the-art Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital, which began serving the community on August 28, 2006. Forensic services are provided through the Stein Hospital, a secure forensic hospital for adults who are court committed. Outpatient services are provided through mental health clinics located throughout the community and rural locations. We are accredited by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.
Position Overview
When you become a SNAMHS provider, you become part of the multidisciplinary team that provides behavioral health services to individuals across the continuum of care based on their individually assess biopsychosocial needs. You will have the opportunity to participate and lead this team in managing a wide variety of patients and diagnoses. You will also have the opportunity to participate in our dynamic resident training and internship program, with possible University Medical School affiliation.
Education and Experience
Applicants must be Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist and be eligible for licensure in the State of Nevada.
Compensation and Benefits
State employment
- Annual salary of $193,342(Employee/Employer paid retirement)

Contract rates - $135 to $165/hour (no benefits and must provide malpractice coverage)
Special Notes and Requirements
NRS 433.267 requires that Psychiatrists employed by the Division of Mental Health and Developmental Services be certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology within five years from the date of employment.
