Description

RadiFi Credit Union (formerly known as Jax Federal Credit Union) is seeking a Vice President of Consumer Lending and Operations to direct and manage the daily operations of the Consumer Lending, Collections and Mortgage functions. Oversee the development, communication, and implementation of lending policies. Manage the implementation of the organization’s consumer lending strategy, aligning organizational goals with department operations. Establish relationships with stakeholders including regulators, examiners, and other external partners. Will work closely with Retail Leaders and Marketing to ensure the credit union is meeting and exceeding overall organizational goals. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively maintains expert level knowledge of policies and procedures that affect consumer, collections and mortgage lending. Demonstrates initiative in identifying problems and recommending solutions that will enhance operational efficiencies, resulting in enhanced member and employee experiences. Responsible for internal controls and compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to the areas of appropriate oversight.
  • Insures credit union compliance with all lending regulations; develops procedural changes as compliance requires or new programs demand. Assists Loan officers with complicated accounts, and guides new team members on credit policy and complex financing arrangements.
  • Provides clear and insightful strategy development results, feedback and interpretation by way of presentations, written analysis, and/or oral reports to senior-level business leaders throughout the credit union.
  • Participate in project teams as assigned. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
  • Reviews and provide lending decisions for all associate loan requests.
  • Partners with Marketing and others in the development of strategic lending initiatives and loan promotions; validates pre-screen data for promotional mailings and ensure promotional procedures are provided to staff in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the development, testing and implementation of all lending products and processes. Makes product specific recommendations regarding pricing and credit decision factors. Researches, evaluates and recommends new lending technologies and/or improvements to systems or other services as necessary. Coordinates consumer lending training and/or mortgage servicing training and education for the staff. Partners with Information Systems to coordinate data processing needs. Remain up-to-date with competitive and economic trends in the local, national, and global markets; leverage knowledge to provide improved and proactive lending solutions.
  • Maximize operational efficiency and team performance. Oversees Consumer Lending, Indirect Lending, Collections, and Mortgage functions; establishes performance management expectations to align to the credit union annual operating goals. Coaches, mentors, and trains all Lending, Collections and Mortgage associates. Interviews and selects qualified candidates as well as conducts performance appraisals for all direct reports within the prescribed time frame. Recommends salary adjustments and/or promotions. Ensures the department meets internal and external service expectations of friendly, professional, and accurate service and support. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.

  Knowledge and Skills

Experience:

7-10 years of experience in Consumer Lending, Collections and/or Mortgage Operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a higher-level management leadership role. Credit Union experience is preferred. Symitar, FICS, and Lending 360 experience is a plus.

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

(1) A two year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.  Must obtain and maintain NMLS certification and needed insurance licenses. 

Interpersonal Skills:

The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written communication skills are essential to the position.

Other Skills:

1. Must have working knowledge of regulations affecting consumer lending, mortgage, and collections .

2. Must have good communication and supervisory skills.

3. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications; be able to use PC and general office equipment.

  ADA Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.

Mental and/or Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
