St. Peter’s Health Partners Physician Opportunity:
St. Peter's Health Partners is seeking to recruit a full-time Psychiatrist to provide crisis and consultation services on behalf of Ellis Hospital located in Schenectady, NY. Ellis Hospital is a 350-bed community hospital with inpatient Adult and Adolescent Psychiatric Units. The Ellis Psychiatry program has been helping patients overcome mental illness for more than 50 years and offers a variety of specialized inpatient and outpatient services. Hospital-based psychiatric consultation work is supported by highly collaborative and collegial interdisciplinary teams.
Position Details:
The Psychiatrist will evaluate and treat patients with a broad range of mental health challenges and work collaboratively with the Hospitalists, Emergency Medicine providers, specialists, and community providers. The psychiatrist will evaluate patients and make recommendations regarding psychiatric treatment and disposition planning in the ED crisis and on medical and surgical units ED consultations are primarily geared toward safety and initial stabilization and disposition planning. Consultations on medical and surgical units focus primarily on patients with mental illness who have comorbid medical illness while in the hospital. Position hours are Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm Call: All call is paid extra, usually provider-volunteered. Typical call schedule would be 1 weeknight (telephone only) every 4 weeks and 1 weekend (in-person) every 8 weeks.
Recruitment Package: St. Peter’s Health Partners offers a comprehensive salary and compensation package that includes:
Competitive base salary including starting bonus; Compensation is between $310,000 and $340,000 The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above. Requirements: Applicants should have the following:
MD or DO; Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry; Experience treating an adult psychiatric patient population; Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine/Consultation Liaison preferred; Experience in an inpatient setting or ED/crisis is also preferred; DEA Licensure/NYS licensure required;
