Established in 1957, Southeast Health is one of Alabama's largest not-for-profit tertiary referral centers. We serve over 600,000 in a 75-mile radius with 2,800+ dedicated employees and 400+ active Medical Staff.

- The Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) is Alabama’s first osteopathic medical school and the first in the U.S. to be developed by a regional medical center
An ACGME Internal Medicine Residency program began July 2018 with an inaugural class of 13 residents, a compliment of 16 residents to begin July 2022 as well as the addition of a Transitional Year

Southeast Health is a not-for-profit community health system dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of the residents of southeast Alabama, southwest Georgia and the Florida Panhandle. Through advanced treatment and technology, it provides for the changing healthcare needs of the growing communities it serves since 1957. The progress of Southeast Health represents the distinguished service of dedicated board members, physicians, employees and volunteers, and a supportive community.

Employing a staff of more than 2,700, Southeast Health is recognized as one of the largest employers in the region and is proud of its reputation of providing a positive and responsive work environment. Southeast Health is supported by a medical staff of approximately 350 physicians representing virtually every medical specialty. Ninety percent of the medical staff at Southeast Health is board-certified compared to the national average of 60 percent.

Accredited Chest Pain Center - accredited by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care based on our achieved higher level of expertise when dealing with patients who arrive with symptoms of a heart attack

Accredited American College of Radiology (ACR) - Mammography, Stereotactic Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, Breast MRI, Ultrasound, MRI and CT
