VCC quickly became the health care safety net for the area’s poor and uninsured by giving them access to the high quality health services that they needed and deserved. Today VCC is recognized as a key regional health provider with seven state-of-the-art clinics treating almost 60,000 patients each year. Our innovative model of community health provides low cost, high quality health care to all residents of San Diego North County communities.

Company History
History
We’re proud of our over 40-year history as a leader in the community clinic movement. From a volunteer-driven clinic serving those most in need in Vista, we’ve grown to become a federally recognized and award winning, health care institution.
1972
Vista Community Clinic (VCC) was founded by volunteers in the basement of a Vista animal shelter.
1974
Received our first government funding and moved to an old church building.
1986
Moved from the second floor of the church building to our first professional medical clinic.
1990
Established the Health Promotion Center which houses VCC’s Community Health programs.
1997
Built the 29,000-square-foot facility at VCC: Vale Terrace.
2002
Became a Federally Qualified Health Center and won the Kaiser Permanente “K Star Award” for innovative programming.
2003
Opened the Dental Clinic at VCC: Vale Terrace as well as a new clinic site, VCC: North River.
2009
Opened a new clinic site VCC: Grapevine, replacing the Thunder Drive location.
2010
Remodeled and re-opened VCC: Horne.
2012
Opened the 31,000-square-foot Joan and Ron Moss Women’s Center at VCC: Vale Terrace.
